Haven of Grace

Project Background
Healing Action Network created the United Fore Survivors Invitational as its inaugural golf scramble, designed to raise vital funds and awareness for survivors of trafficking and exploitation. The event was positioned as more than a day of golf; it was framed as a community-centered fundraising experience where “compassion meets action” and where sponsors, golfers, and community leaders could help support Healing Action Network’s life-affirming programs that foster safety, healing, and recovery for survivors.
The event materials promoted the tournament for Monday, April 13, 2026, at Forest Park Golf Course, with St. Louis Blues alumni Reed Low and Cam Janssen serving as event co-chairs. The sponsorship outreach emphasized an audience of 100+ corporate and community leaders, along with marketing reach through email campaigns, social media, web features, and media coverage.

Creative, Design & Messaging Approach
The creative direction began with the event name: United Fore Survivors. The name uses a golf-centered play on words while keeping the mission at the center. “United” reinforces collective action, community partnership, and shared responsibility. “Fore” immediately connects the brand to golf, while “Survivors” makes the purpose clear and prevents the event from feeling like a generic charity outing.
The logo combines a golf ball, laurel wreath, and Healing Action Network mark to create a visual identity that feels both event-specific and mission-aligned. The golf ball grounds the design in the invitational format, while the laurel wreath adds a sense of honor, recognition, and achievement. Incorporating the Healing Action Network symbol directly onto the ball creates brand continuity and reminds viewers that the event exists to support survivor-centered services.
The broader event materials extended that identity across a flyer, sponsorship packet, social media graphics, and sponsor communication pieces. The core event message — “Uniting Communities. Driving Change. Empowering Survivors.” — helped connect the golf theme to the mission. It gave the campaign a clear verbal structure: people come together, funds and awareness move the work forward, and survivors remain at the heart of the purpose
COLOR PALETTE
The color palette uses soft light blue backgrounds, deep blue accents, bright green, purple, white, and golf-inspired neutrals.
- The light blue background creates a calm, open, and optimistic tone, while the darker blue grounds the materials in Healing Action Network’s existing visual identity and adds credibility to donor- and sponsor-facing pieces.
- Green plays a central role because it connects naturally to golf, the course environment, and the idea of growth and renewal. Purple ties the event back to Healing Action Network’s broader brand language and adds a sense of dignity, advocacy, and survivor-centered strength.
- he white highlights and outlined lettering help the bold event name stand out clearly across both print and digital applications.
TYPOGRAPHY
Typography was used to create energy, hierarchy, and event personality. The main title uses bold, condensed uppercase lettering for “United Fore Survivors,” giving the event a strong, athletic, high-impact presence. This headline treatment makes the event name easy to read quickly and strong enough to anchor flyers, sponsorship materials, and social media graphics.
The word “Invitational” uses a script-style type treatment that softens the design and adds a more polished, event-forward feel. This contrast between bold uppercase and expressive script helps the brand feel both energetic and elevated.
Supporting typography is clean and practical, especially in the sponsorship packet, where readability is essential. The sponsorship materials needed to communicate multiple giving levels, benefits, add-ons, payment details, logo submission instructions, and contact information. Strong section headings and structured tables helped make those details easier for sponsors to review and act on.

Messaging Strategy
The messaging strategy was built around three priorities:
Position the event as mission-driven, not just recreational.
The materials repeatedly connect participation to survivor support, explaining that the tournament will raise funds and awareness for Healing Action Network’s comprehensive services for survivors of trafficking and exploitation.
Make sponsorship feel meaningful and valuable.
The sponsorship packet was written to show both mission impact and sponsor benefits. Opportunities ranged from a $10,000 Title Sponsor level to $500 Community Allies, with benefits such as event signage, social media recognition, website placement, program ads, golfer entries, hole sponsorships, and promotional materials in swag bags.
Create a clear bridge between generosity and survivor impact.
The survivor story piece helped deepen the campaign by showing what support makes possible. Maya’s story connected donor generosity to tangible survivor needs such as safe housing, transportation, advocacy, therapy, peer support, education goals, and long-term recovery. It also tied golf directly to healing by describing how the sport became a space for breathing, focus, small wins, and steady growth.
